The good: Ms. Gerritsen is an excellent author and writes in a smooth prose; good scene setting and character development but doesn't get bogged down in minutia and the story moves along nicely. Rizzoli is sharp but carries a chip on her shoulder, Moore is still grieving over the past. I feel like I know these people. For that reason alone I would recommend the book.
The not so good: Other than the killer having a uterus fetish, nothing original in the plot: Nut case murderer on the loose, the good guys/girls are on the hunt to stop him before he can kill again. Wow, never heard of that one before...But wait! Detective Moore falls hopelessly in love with the beautiful target of the murderer's obsession. Wow, a budding romance thrown in for spice. Never heard of that one before either....
