OK, I'm not really sure why the text of my original review didn't post.....but here goes again.
I actually sent this back without completing it. It was horrible. The plot was ludicrous, the writing pathetic.....I can't find a single good thing to say about it.
The primary reason i listen to audio books is to keep my mind off the traffic that I'm snarled in morning and evening. It helps keep me calm, and has even on occasion made me look forward to my commute! This book, on the other hand, actually made me MORE irritable. I wanted to scream at the characters, I wanted to scream at the author, I wanted to scream at myself for listening to it.
In short : don't bother with this one. I've read Angels & Demons (but not the Davinci Code yet), and although I found it a bit sophomoric a time or two, it was mildly enjoyable. Digital Fortress doesn't even rate that. As far as I can tell, Mr. Brown did not do any research at all into cryptography or the NSA, and knows nothing about how such organizations and industries might work.
